School Employee Reports Suspicious Activity; Sex Offender Charged

On the morning of Monday, May 18th an alert employee in the North Kansas School District noticed a suspicious man on school grounds and immediately reported it to authorities.  School Resource Deputies and Kansas City Police located the man nearby where he was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  It was also discovered that the man is a Registered Sex Offender and had been living in Clay County for several months without notifying authorities as required.

Thanks to quick thinking by school staff and a quick response by Clay County Deputies and Kansas City Police 34 year old Aaron S. Finney has been charged by Clay County Prosecutors with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.  More charges could be filed this week.
