 Deputies Investigating Police Impersonator

Clay County, Missouri – May 13th, 2016 – Clay County Sheriff Deputies have a Person of Interest in custody after reports of a man impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer in the 2800 block of NE Shoal Creek Parkway.

This morning just after 7:00 a.m. School Resource Deputies were informed about a person claiming to be a Law Enforcement Officer at the North Kansas City School District Transportation Annex, which is adjacent to Staley High School. That person was taken into custody and placed on a twenty-four hour Investigative Hold. School Resource Deputies work closely with the School District to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Detectives are also investigating a similar incident that occurred May 6th, 2016.

No other information is currently is available as the incident is still under investigation, and charges are pending.
